1936 The S. U. Carburettor Co Ltd was incorporated by Morris Motors to acquire from Morris Industries the business of carburettor manufacture trading under the name of S. U. Company[1].

1937 Carburetters, petrol pumps etc.

1946 Advertised as part of the Nuffield Organization[2].

1961 Listed as part of the British Motor Corporation

1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Carburetters.

1970s Subsidiary of British Leyland Motor Corporation

1976 Became part of the new SU-Butec division

1980s Remained in production through to the 1980s.

By 1996 Burlen Fuel Systems had purchased the dormant company name of The SU Carburetter Company which it registered as a wholly owned subsidiary of Burlen Fuel Systems Limited. Burlen also reached agreement to manufacture the SU range of electric fuel pumps and the HS range of SU carburettors.
