1934 Robert Kronfeld acquired British Aircraft Co, later renamed as Kronfeld Ltd

1939 Managing director of a flying school; lived in Watlington, Oxon; he was given full exemption from internment[2]

1941 Flying Office Robert Kronfeld, of Watlington, was naturalised as a British citizen[3]

Transferred to the Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment

1943 Flight Lieutenant Robert KRONFELD (78782), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, was awarded the Air Force Cross[4]

Post-WWII: freelance consultant and test pilot

1948 Robert Kronfeld of 46A, Greencroft Gardens, London, N W 6, Test Pilot, died on 12th February, 1948[5]. He was killed whilst testing the GAL.56 tailless glider on a flight from Lasham; he enabled his observer, Barry McGowan,to escape at low level before the glider crashed[6]
