1921 June 27th. Born Mussoorie, India

Educated Felsted School in Essex and Emmanuel College, Cambridge to read Mechanical Sciences.

Married Anna Christina Roding (died 2012; three children)

1952 Dept of Engineering, University of Cambridge

1956 Appointed Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University

1964 Became Director of MIRA

c1977-82 Professor of Automotive Engineering at Cranfield University

2015 May 10th. Died Abergavenny.
