ROBERT HOBSON died in February 1926 at Hamilton, Ontario.
Mr. Hobson was born at Kitchener, Ontario, in 1861, and after completion of his education he became engaged in railway work. He afterwards turned his attention to the development of the iron and steel industries of Canada, and became one of the most prominent industrial pioneers in the Dominion.
He was general manager and vice-president of the Steel Company of Canada from 1910-15, and in the latter year became president of the company. During 1908 he held the presidency of the Canadian Manufacturers' Association.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1921.
