"ROBERT FEATHER, who was a Companion of the Institution, had a long experience as a machinery auctioneer and valuer. He was educated at the Ingrow Schools and the Keighley Trade and Grammar School. His engineering training was undertaken at the works of [[F. and J. Butterfield and Co|Messrs. F. and J. Butterfield and Company, Ltd]]., Keighley, Yorks, from 1876 until 1882, and on its completion he commenced his long career as mentioned above, retiring from active business in 1922. Mr. Feather was born in 1863, and died on 5th August 1939. He was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1899, and transferred to be Companion in 1922."
