1893 Obituary [1]

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Robert Dennett, who, for a period of twenty years, took an active part in the public life of Nottingham. and was partner of the firm Messrs. Dennett and Ingle, contractors, of Nottingham, and London, which took place this morning at Bournemouth, where he had gone for the benefit of his health.

The deceased gentleman was a native of Nottingham and was 61 years of age. As builder he was very successful, and became the head a firm which had wide connection and carried out many extensive undertakings.

It was 1873 that he first came before his fellow townsmen as a candidate for public honours, contesting Exchange Ward along with his friend, now Sir John Turner....[more]
