Roath Power Station

1904 Built as a generating station for the tramways system in Cardiff. Initial installation of four 300 kW. generators.

Later two further 900 kW. generators and two 1,000 kW. alternators were added

All of this plant was later removed during the reconstruction of the station.

1909 A 2,000 kW. turbo-alternator and water-tube boiler were installed

1914 Another 2,000 kW generator installed

1917 Another 2,000 kW generator installed

1921 Major refurbishment with installation of three 5,000 kW. and one 12,500 kW. turbo-alternators.
