1903 Started by Percy Riley to build and supply engines to the Riley Cycle Co

1906 Having outgrown its original site, the Riley Engine Co moved into new premises in Aldbourne Road, which it and its successors were to occupy continuously until 1974.

1931 The Riley Engine Co and Midland Motor Bodies were taken over by the Riley company. Victor Riley was Chairman. [1]

1938 Ownership of Riley Engine Co was retained by Percy Riley and his associates when the rest of Riley was taken into the Nuffield Organisation; it was subsequently renamed P. R. Motors.
