Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway

A 29 mile line running from the Rhondda Valley, down the Afan valley and eventually to Swansea. It opened fully in 1895 and closed 1968. [1]
1882 The company was incorporated. The authorised line is 32.5 miles in length, of which 31 miles are in operation. Directors were the Earl of Jersey, John Jones Jenkins, Henry Hussey Vivian, Charles Bath, Thomas Cory, Thomas Davies Daniel, John Richardson Francis and Morgan Bransby Williams.[2]
1906 As from January 1st, an agreement has been entered into giving the Great Western Railway running powers over this company's system. [3]
1923 Became part of the Great Western Railway [4]
