1966 Obituary[1]

"We regret to record the death, at the age of fifty-nine, of Mr. Ralph James Hitchcock, chief labour relations officer of London Transport Board. Mr. Hitchcock joined the staff office of the Underground Group of Companies in 1923. He became secretary to Lord Ashfield, the then chairman of the London Passenger Transport Board, in 1945, and two years later he was appointed establishment officer. In 1955 he was appointed labour relations officer, and in 1957 chief labour relations officer."
