Rajputana-Malwa Railway

The Rajputana-Malwa Railway was a metre gauge railway line which ran from Delhi to Indore and to Ahmedabad and grouped a number of lines-

Rajputana Lines

Malwa Lines

Punjab Lines

Provincial Lines

The Railway was renamed as Rajputana-Malwa Railway when a new line from Ajmer to Khandwa via. New Ujjain Junction, Indore Junction, Indore New Rajendra Nagar Terminus and Mhow was added to it.

1884 At the end of the year it had 1,603 miles of Metre Gauge lines open and another 65 miles ready to be opened.

1885 March 9th. Jodhpur was connected to this network from Marwar Junction with metre gauge track and later became part of the Jodhpur-Bikaner Railway.

1885 Leased to the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway[1]

1895 The F-734, the first locomotive built in India, was built by the Ajmer workshop of the Rajputana Malwa Railway in 1895.

1900/6 Absorbed by the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway.
