1866 Roper and Co were in negotiations to sell the two blast furnaces to the Patent Nut and Bolt Co [1]

1870 Dissolution of the Partnership between John Lawrence, Richard Steven Roper, and Harry Lawrence Morgan, carrying on business at Cwmbran, in the county of Monmouth, as Ironmasters, under the style or firm of R. S. Roper and Company, , so far only as regards Richard Stephen Roper.[2]
