1990 'WE BELIEVE our company Hallidays of Middleton is the oldest name in conservatory manufacturing in Britain and to mark our 121st anniversary this year we are compiling a special booklet From catalogues and old glass plates from which photographs were made we are aware that many of our conservatories were erected in Victorian and Edwardian times in the Cheshire area Illustrations from Hallidays old catalogues show conservatories built for Lady Delamere at Vale Royal as well as at Crewe Hall and Jodrell Hall Also Orangeries and Vineries in stately homes in Cheshire We would welcome more details from your readers about any of our older conservatories in Cheshire and particularly any photographs or illustrations they may have Halliday’s Conservatories can be identified not only by their distinctive design but also by their brass plaques All contributions will be acknowledged and can be phoned on 061-643-2058.
