1845 Lawrence Smith retired from the Partnership with William Smith, James Smith, William Smith the younger, Prince Smith, and George Smith, all of Keighley, Machine Makers and Whitesmiths, carrying on business together, under the style or firm of William Smith and Sons[1]

1865 The Partnership between James Smith, William Smith, Prince Smith, and George Smith, as Machine Makers, at Keighley, in the county of York, under the style or firm of William Smith and Sons, was dissolved by mutual consent[2]
