1965 US management consultancy McKinsey was brought in to review the Plessey Co; the businesses were divided into Groups, one of which was Telecommunications. Plessey Telecommunications would incorporate Ericsson Telephones and Automatic Telephone and Electric Co[1].

1977 Sites at Fleming Road, Speke, Liverpool, and Eldon Street, South Shields, and at Carr Lane, Chorley, North Hylton Road, Sunderland and Wilson Road, Huyton.
