1981 Formed as a new management company in Plessey; one member of the group was Birkby's Plastics[1]
1987/8 Aerospace and engineering accounted for 8 per cent of Plessey's turnover. The principal activities were microwave materials for `stealth applications, systems and components for civil and military aircraft, electrical power units for tanks and fighting vehicles, product support services, and plastics.
Microelectronics and components accounted for 9 per cent of turnover . Major activities were silicon integrated circuits (bi-polar and metal-oxide silicon), gallium arsenide products and opto-electronics.[2]
