c1857 Arthur Rigg acquired the Phoenix Ironworks for his sons Arthur and James

1865 Dissolution of the Partnership between Arthur Rigg, Junior and James Rigg, carrying on business as Engineers and Machinists, at George-street, in the city of Chester, under the style or firm of Arthur and James Rigg.[1]

The business was continued by James Rigg

By 1873 Arthur junior had established business in London, with works in Chester - see Arthur Rigg (London).

1883 James Rigg closed his business at the Phoenix Ironworks and established a consulting practice in London

This c.1875 O.S. map shows the iron works on the north side of George Street. The site is now a car park. The cottages on the opposite side of the road have survived.
