Col Philip Reginald Bence-Jones, MC (Fellow) died on Jun 2 at the age of 75. following preparatory schools and Rugby he studied at Cambridge University where he gained a BA (Cantab), Mechanical Sciences Tripos with First Class Honours. | |||
During the First World War he served in the Royal Engineers, and following demobilisation was employed with various engineering consultants concerned with projects at home and abroad. In 1928 he was appointed as Engineer in charge of a Division of the Chief Engineer's Department of the LCC and in 1934 became Principal of the Maclagan Engineering College, Lahore, where he remained until his retirement and return to the UK. | |||
Whilst in Lahore, Col Bence-Jones was a member of the Institution's Advisory Committee for India and gave freely of his time, particularly in matters relating to examinations and membership. | |||

Col Philip Reginald Bence-Jones, MC (Fellow) died on Jun 2 at the age of 75. following preparatory schools and Rugby he studied at Cambridge University where he gained a BA (Cantab), Mechanical Sciences Tripos with First Class Honours.
During the First World War he served in the Royal Engineers, and following demobilisation was employed with various engineering consultants concerned with projects at home and abroad.
