1860 Partnership change. '...the Partnership subsisting between Thomas Morris Banks and Daniel James, as Merchants and Commission Agents, carrying on business at Liverpool, under the firm of Phelps, James, and Co., was terminated by the death of the said Thomas Morris Banks,...'[2]

1879 Partnership change. '... the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, as Merchants, at Liverpool, in England, under the firm of Phelps, James, and Co., expired, by effluxion of time, on the 31st day of December, 1878. Dated this 1st day of January, 1879. Wm. M Dodge. James Stokes. W. E. Dodge, jun. D. Willis James. Anson Phelps Stokes. Charles C. Dodge. Thos. Stokes. D. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Charles Berjew Brooke...'[4]
