The name was first used in 1983 to re-brand the Marley Homecare chain.

1986 Ward White acquired the Payless DIY chain[1]

1989 Boots acquired Ward White[2]

1990 Payless DIY and W H Smith Do It All were merged and became Do It All Ltd, a joint venture of Boots and W H Smith.

1993 Do It All implemented Project Focus

1996 Boots acquired the shares owned by W H Smith and so Do It All (Holdings) became a subsidiary of that company

By 1998 Do It All (Holdings) was owned by the Focus Retail Group and the name of the group was changed to Focus Do It All.
