1986 The automotive parts distribution business Quinton Hazell[1] was subject to a management buyout from Burmah Oil Co and adopted the name Partco Group; the company had 300 branches nationwide[2]

1989 Partco Ltd acquired GKN Autoparts, except for some businesses that Partco did not want

1994 Flotation of the Partco Autoparts company[3]

1995 Made its second acquisition since flotation: Downey Autoparts[4].

1996 Acquired Serck Marston, distributor of radiators

1997 Acquired Brown Brothers, maker of car components, which meant that Partco had trebled in size since flotation in 1994[5]

1999 Acquired by Unipart[6]
