1924 Private company.

1937 Gun mountings, ground equipment, searchlight mountings. "Opperman" Reduction Worm Gears. [1]

WWII Manufactured parts for the De Havilland Mosquito.[2]

1961 Manufacture a wide range of spur, worm and helical gear units embodying any make or type of electric motor. [3]

1964 Opperman Gears (Holdings) Ltd acquired the non-ferrous foundry of George Kent Ltd and merged it with the existing subsidiary, W. J. Mariner and Co, as Opperman Foundries[4]

1968 Because of broadening range of business the company name was changed to Opperman Holdings[5]

1973 Opperman Holdings was acquired by Hawker Siddeley and became part of Brook Motors[6]

1985 Hawker Siddeley sold Opperman Gears Ltd, a leading maker of geared motors and mechanical power transmission equipment, to Unigate[7]
