1897 The company was registered in December.

1914 The [Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation Transport]] started to consider purchasing the company's assets with the Ashton area.

The lines are purchasable by the local authorities in 1918 on terms of the Tramways Act 1870. [1]

1921 Ashton Transport purchased the lines in its borough.
