1937 Fire destroys patterns and records at Cheadle Heath.[3]

1939 Patent Restoration. 'Notice is hereby given that The National Supply Corporation and The Oil Well Engineering Company Limited have made Application for the Restoration of the Patent granted to them for an invention entitled "Improvements in and relating to rotary swivel devices for well drilling equipment", numbered 446,851 and bearing the date the 22nd day of October, 1934, which expired on the 22nd day of October, 1938, owing to the non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.'[4]

1941 Patent Restoration. 'The National Supply Corporation and The Oil Well Engineering Company Limited have made application for the Restoration of the Patent granted to them for an invention entitled "Improvements in and relating to rotary machines for well drilling," numbered 495,747 and bearing date the 1st March 1937, which expired on the 1st March 1941 owing to the non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.'[5]

1943 James Cuthill, the general manager, awarded OBE.[6][7]

1952 The Burmah Oil Co holds some shares as a 'trading investment' in the company.[8]

1961 Manufacturers and suppliers of well drilling machinery and all oil field requirements. 900 employees. [9]

1961 Retirement of L. S. Dawson who worked in the company for 42 years and was MD for the past 14.[10]

1964 Awards large contract to AEI for motor and control gear for a North Sea offshore drilling platform.[11]

1971 Announcement. 'A 50 per cent interest in Oweco, a British manufacturer of oilfield equipment has been purchased from British Petroleum and Burmah Oil by ACF Industries of New York. The remaining 50 per cent is owned by Armco Steel, Ohio.[12]
