1896 Incorporated as a limited company and amalgamated with Samuel Evans and Sons, Smethwick. The company was registered on 9 October, to acquire the businesses of wholesale and retail looking glass manufacturer, and of Birmingham Plate Glass Insurance Co, carried on by O. C. Hawkes. [1]

Specialities: XL porcelain finish to wood for all bathroom and lavatory requisites, glass bevelling, bending, embossing and engraving, painting and staining on glass, polished plated for motor bodies, windshields etc. with polished edges, patent plate, rough, rolled and wired glass, Hawke's patent crystalline glass, sand blasting, opal letters, patent flaps for ventilating, viewing and speaking purposes, view reflectors, reflector signs for crossroads and dangerous corners, wrought iron and patent ratchet casements, collapsible gates etc. Employees 1,000.
