Dr. Crossman's private school, Redruth, and with the late [[John Hocking]], Civil and Mining Engineer, Redruth. Has acted as Consulting Engineer for several Mining Companies and Slate Quarries. Designed pumping plants and drained important mining areas in Cornwall, notably [[Carn Brea and Tincroft Mines|Carn Brea and Tincroft]], [[South Crofty Mine|South Crofty]], [[Basset and Grylls Mines|Basset and Grylls]], [[Killifreth, Mine|Killifreth]], Basset Mines and Phoenix United Mines. At this latter mine special methods, using plant designed by him, were first successfully applied in this country. Also laid out several important concentration plants for complex and other ores, such as tin, wolfram, arsenic, lead and copper. War Services.—Acting Engineer throughout Cornwall for the Cornwall Munitions Board of Management from August, 1915, to November, 1918. | |||
