1945 Applied for extension of the term of a patent granted to MELLOR BROMLEY AND COMPANY Limited, THOMAS CHARLES BROMLEY and ARTHUR SHORTLAND bearing date the 16th February, 1929, and numbered 329,369 for the invention of "Improvements in or relating to Patterning Mechanism for Knitting Machines."[3]
1946-47 Acquired L. Tansey and Co
1947 A maker (including through its subsidiaries) of knitting machinery, dyeing and finishing machinery, textile machine accessories, air conditioning plant, needles, laundry machinery, road making machinery. The 3 subsidiaries were Pegson Ltd, L. Tansey and Co, Brown and Green with its subsidiary Marshall, Hunt and Partners, which was not trading[4]
1954 Acquired by Bentley Engineering Co[5]
Presumably Wildt and Co was combined with Mellor, Bromley and Co, both subsidiaries of Bentley Engineering, as Wildt Mellor Bromley
1955 Owned by Sears Holdings. Increased capacity to install air conditioning plant.[6]
1972 Mellor Bromley Air Conditioning Ltd was put into voluntary liquidation[7]; Mellor Bromley Air Conditioning Services was not affected.
