Meiros Colliery, Llanharan

Probably opened during the early 1880's by the Gas Coal Collieries

In 1908 Meiros Nos.1 and 2 pits employed 409 men.

Meiros Collieries Ltd. took over the running of the mine in 1913 and by 1918 they were employing 622 men at the colliery.

From a list 1923, there were 720 men working at Meiros and Pentre, producing Gas and Manufacturing coal from the Pentre No.3 seam.

Closed around 1938.
