1883 established as McKnight, McCredie and Co, iron shipbuilders

1889 See 1889 Shipbuilding Statistics for detail of the tonnage produced

1896 following the death of Samuel McKnight, his son and other members of the family continued the business, which was now incorporated as a limited liability company, S McKnight and Co Limited

1902 taken over by the Ailsa Shipbuilding Co Limited. The company was dissolved in that year
