1848 Hugh Unsworth McKie and John Lawson purchased the business of John Watson (1816-1890), M. Inst. C.E.

Carried out railway and estate surveys, and surveys for road making, bridge building, harbour works, laying out building land, &c.

1856 They carried on the business until 1856.
