of Loughborough Road, Kirkcaldy

c.1930 The firm was established by the McDonald brothers as motor and general engineers. During the war, three factories supported the war effort, turning out wings for Hudson bombers and other aircraft.[1]

1945 McDonald Engineers (Kirkcaldy) Limited, 20 South Street, Leven, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to acquire the sheet metal work and light engineering sections of the business of aeronautical and general engineers carried on by T. McDonald & Sons at Kirkcaldy.[2] The company now moved into plumbing, manufacturing copper cylinders and complete plumbing systems, mainly for Australia and the Middle East.

1971 Automotive tipper bodies

1992 The company moved premises to Glenrothes.

2003 The company name was changed to McDonald Engineers (UK) Ltd.[3]

2018 The company name was changed again to McDonald Water Storage Ltd.
