Matchbox is a brand of diecast toys.

1953 The Matchbox name started as a brand name of Lesney Products and Co

The Matchbox/Lesney factory was a major employer in Homerton, East London, before the company relocated to Rugby in Warwickshire in 1990.

Currently owned by Mattel, Inc.

c1981 Rescued by Hong Kong interests[1]
