1961 Specialists in conversions of commercial vehicles into the multi-purpose Dormobile and estate cars, light buses, personnel carriers, ambulances, fire tenders and other utility vehicles. Hold wholesale distributing and retail agencies for leading makes of cars and commercial vehicles, also re-tread tractor tyres. 1,300 employees.[2]
1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Showed Dormobile range.[3]
1964 Acquired G. E. Neville, Bedford and Vauxhall dealers[4]
1967 3 new "Dormobile" models available based on Bedford, B.M.C. and Volkswagen chassis (see advert)
1972 After several bids from other groups, Martin Walter Ltd accepted a take-over offer from Charrington, Gardner, Locket and Co[5]
1981 Put together with another Charringtons subsidiary as Chatfields-Martin Walter
