1900 February 'Under the title of The Manchester Motor Club a motor organisation independent any other automobile club has formed this city....The hon. sec. is W. Cawood; hon. treasurer, R. H. Carlisle, whilst T. W. Grace and J. A. Bennett are amongst the committee.'[1]
