1975 Linfood was created by the merger of Associated Food Holdings Ltd and Thomas Linnell and Sons Ltd, covering wholesale, cash and carry, and retail, food distribution.

1977 Linfood Holdings acquired Gateway

1983 Linfood Holdings was renamed Dee Corporation

1988 Linfood Cash and Carry was sold to Booker plc.As Gateway accounted for the great majority of the business, Dee Corporation could be renamed Gateway.
