Joseph Tyzack and Son
Joseph Tyzack and Son of Meersbrook Works, Sheffield.
1837 Joseph Tyzack (1813-1891) established his business.
He built a connection with the Isle-of-Man Steam Packet Boat Co. The three legged trademark, which was required by this customer, was later adopted and registered with the Cutlers’ Company in 1847.[1]
Company products included palette knives, graining combs, butchers' and bakers' tools, bricklayers' trowels and garden, joiners' and moulders' tools.[2]
Thomas Tyzack (1842-1923) joined the business
1871 The Partnership heretofore subsisting between Joseph Tyzack and Thomas Tyzack, as Tool Manufacturers and Factors, in Fitzwilliam-street, Sheffield, under the style of Joseph Tyzack was dissolved by mutual consent. The business was continued by Thomas Tyzack, under the style of Joseph Tyzack and Son.[3]
1879 Joseph Tyzack and Sons, tool and machine knife and cutlery manufacturers of Bowdon Street, Sheffield[4]
1942 Company amalgamated with Isaac Nash of Stourbridge to form Nash Tyzack Industries.[5]
