1892 Joseph Tinn Ltd registered to carry into effect an agreement between J Tinn and C G Tinn for the acquisition of the undertaking of a manufacturer of black and galvanised iron and steel sheets, galvaniser and corrugator of iron, smelter, ironfounder and engineer, hitherto carried on by J Tinn at the Ashton Rolling Mills, Long Ashton, Bristol, at Pontynewyndd near Pontypool, Mon, and at the Redcliffe Crown Galvanized Iron Works, Bristol 
The 1902 O.S. map (surveyed 1881-82, revised 1902) shows the Ashton Rolling Mills located in what then was countryside, 1/3 mile west of the Bedminster built-up area. The area is now characterised by industrial buildings and the BCFC Ashton Gate stadium
