1841 John Petrie 50, engineer, lived in Rochdale with John Petrie 20, ironmonger, James Petrie 25, engineer, Joseph Petrie 20, engineer, George Petrie 10, Ellen Petrie 50, Isabella Petrie 10, Margaret Petrie 5[2]

1861 Joseph Petrie 44, engineer and iron founder, lived in Wardleworth, with Elizabeth Petrie 40, John Edwd Petrie 18, engineer and iron founder, Fanny Petrie 2[3]

1871 Joseph and Elizabeth were visiting his brother James; Joseph was a retired engineman[4]

1880 died in Rochdale[5]
