Of City File Works, German Street, Ancoats, Manchester

1895 listed as a file maker at the above address in Slater's Manchester & Salford Directory, 1895 (Part 2). The Directory places the premises on the right hand side of German Street (now Radium Street) between Naval Street and Jersey Street

1928 Goad's Insurance Plans Map 217 dated 1928 identifies the building as a file factory and hardware warehouse

The building has survived, recently converted for office use and named 'Sam's Foundry'. Close to 'Sankey's Soap Factory' which occupied part of the Beehive Mill
