1796 Joseph Fletcher Smith was Master Cutler.

His son was Benjamin Smith who started Stanton Ironworks

Henry Smith was included in the original charter to the Cutlers Company granted by James I in 1624.

1722 John Smith was Master Cutler, and Town Collector of Sheffield in 1731

c1740 John Smith, his son, bought an interest in Sheffield blast-furnaces, which eventually became his sole property. His son was Fletcher Smith
