c.1817 Born in Gateshead, presumably son of Jonathan Robson (d.1844)

1851 Jonathan Robson 34, engine builder, employing 55 men, lived in Gateshead with Isabella Robson 34, Jonathan Robson 10, Jane Robson 7, Barbara Robson 5, George S G Robson 1[1]

Early 1850s: Operated a steam-tug building yard at Ouseburn - Jonathan Robson

Later moved to the Blackwall Engine and Iron Shipbuilding Works at Poplar.

1858 Engine and Iron Ship Building Works, Blackwall.[2]

1861 Jonathan Robson 44, engine builder, employing 15 men and 4 boys, lived in Gateshead with Isabella Robson 46 Jonathan Robson 20, Jane Robson 17, Barbara J Robson 14, George T G Robson 11, Emily Robson 9[3]
