Jonathan Dodgson Carr (1806-1884 ), founder of Carr and Co

1806 Jonathan Dodgson Carr was born in Kendal, Westmoreland, son of Jonathan and Jane Carr; Jonathan was a grocers[1]

1851 Jonathan D Carr 44, miller and baker, lived in Carlisle with Jane Carr 42, Elizabeth Carr 16, Henry Carr 15, George T Carr 13, James N Carr 12, Thomas W Carr 10, Eliza J Carr 8[2]

1881 Jonathan D. Carr 74, Biscuit Manufacturer Employing 222 Men, 96 Boys, 36 Women & 53 Boys, lived in Carlisle with Jane Carr 72, Elizabeth Carr 46[3]

1884 Jonathan Dodgson Carr died in Carlisle age 77[4], he was a corn merchant and biscuit manufacturer; his executors were Henry Carr and James Nicholson Carr, corn merchants and biscuit manufacturers[5]
