1911 Living at Sunnyside, Keighley (age 52 born Keighley), an Engineers Tool Maker and Employer. With his wife Ella Smith Darling (age 52 born Keighley) and their children William (age 27 born Keighley), a Bank Clerk; Dorothy (age 23 born Keighley); Percy (age 21 born Keighley), Engineers Toolmaker; and Frances Maud (age 18 born Keighley). JOHN WILLIAM DARLING, chairman of Messrs. Darling and Sellers, machine-tool manufacturers of Keighley, entered the business founded by his father, Mr. William Darling, and Mr. Robert Sellers, on completing his education. His whole career was associated with the firm, and he was chiefly occupied on the secretarial and commercial side of the business.

He died on 20th July 1929, at the age of 73, and he had been a Member of the Institution since 1902.
