Nephew of James Honiball
1853 A committee appointed by the Lords of the Admiralty chose Trotman's modification of the Porter anchor as the most effective improvement. The anchor was then used in the Cunard and the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co's steamers, in the SS Great Eastern and the Queen's yacht and the Emperor Napoleon's yacht.[1]
