1861 Living at 6 Anns Road, Newcastle: John Toward (age 43 born Newcastle), Civil Engineer Master. With his wife Elizabeth Toward (age 44 born Westmorland) and their children; Mary A. Toward (age 16 born Newcastle); John Toward (age 14 born Newcastle); Elizabeth T. Toward (age 12 born Newcastle); Alfred W. Toward (age 9 born Newcastle); and Henry T. Toward (age 7 born Newcastle). One servant. Note: This is the adjoining house with William Toward, Junior.[1]

1874 February 7th. Died. Probate describes as a Shipowner.
