Professor Sir John Robert Seeley (1834–1895), historian[1]

1887 Professor J R Seeley MA LLD presented the president's inaugural address at the Birmingham and Midland Institute in which he applauded the willingness of the students to study and examined the role of universities in Britain and abroad[2].
