1950 'LEEDS FOUNDRY CHAIRMAN DIES AGED 85. Mr John Dockray Ratcliff, chairman of John Ratcliff and Sons, Ltd, Whingate Foundry, has died at his home in Street Lane, Moortown, Leeds, aged 85. He began working in the firm's workshops 50 years ago, and retired from the position of managing director In 1948. He leaves a son.'[1]. Same firm?
