John James Impett (1861-1909)


1909 Obituary [1]

JOHN JAMES IMPETT, born on the 19th January, 1861, died at Canterbury on the 24th May, 1909.

Trained on the South Eastern Railway, his subsequent career was passed on railway work in Brazil and Peru. Of this period of 25 years, 16 were spent in the service of the Central Railway of Peru, of which undertaking he was appointed Manager and Engineer in 1897. At the time of his death, he was engaged in England in connection with mining work at Tamboraque, Peru.

Mr. Impett was elected a Member of The Institution on the 4th February, 1902.
