1877 Obituary [1]

JOHN HENRY NYE was born on 15th August 1830 at Athis-Mons (France), and at the age of 16 entered the drawing office at the engineering works of Messrs. Varrall Elwell and Middleton, Paris, where he gradually worked his way up to the position of engineer to the firm, and would have become a partner had he lived.

His death took place on 14th October 1876 at the age of 46.

He became a Member of the Institution in 1870.
