1807 Born the son of John Pearson Hayward, a Decorator, and his wife Frances Barry.

1826 Exhibiting at the Royal Academy

1851 Living at Cathedral Yard, Exeter: John Hayward (age 43 born London), Architect. With his wife Sarah and daughter Sarah.[1]

1853 Architect for the HM Prison, Exeter.

1853 Architect for the Exeter Diocesan Training College

1856 Married(2) at Lambeth to Charlotte Augusta Hayward the daughter of Samuel Hayward, a Merchant.

1864 Presents one of the designs for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter.[2]
